Frank A. Skerl III
Frank A. Skerl III, 76, of Hickory, died Thursday, December 20, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born January 29, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Frank A. Skerl II and Anna Koss Skerl Ferme.
Mr. Skerl was a graduate of Crafton High School and a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Skerl worked for Frame Electric in Pittsburgh and Brown and Powell in Pittsburgh and Bethel Park, and he retired in 2013 from Tri-State Supply in Washington.
He was a member of Meadow Lands United Methodist Church, Westland Sportsman Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 in Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 in Houston. Mr. Skerl enjoyed hunting and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, and he loved spending time with his family.
On June 21, 1968, he married Donna Libert, who survives.
Also surviving are son Frank A. Skerl IV of Coraopolis; daughter Jody Vance (William Sr.) of Houston; two granddaughters, Katie Miller (Josh) and Paige Trafzer (Garrett); two great-grandchildren, Luke Miller and Emma Trafzer; sister Jackie Gallik of Grand Junction, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. At the request of the deceased, interment will be held privately in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Military honors will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Honor Guard, Canonsburg.
