Samuel Oliverio
Samuel Oliverio, 81, of Washington, died Saturday, December 22, 2018.
He was born March 23, 1937, in Washington, a son of the late Pietro and Saletto Gallo Oliverio.
Mr. Oliverio graduated from Trinity High School in 1954.
An insurance salesman and certified life underwriter, he owned Oliverio Insurance Agency for over 20 years.
Mr. Oliverio was an active member of Fourth Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of Kiwanis and the Alpine Club.
He coached Brownson House basketball and Washington Bronco, Pony and Colt baseball. Mr. Oliverio was an avid golfer and a member of Washington Country Club for nearly three decades.
On June 22, 1957, he married Mary Lou Eckland, who died May 31, 2009.
Surviving are three sons, Samuel M. (Tawnya) Oliverio of Morgantown, W.Va., Scott E. (Kathy) Oliverio of Washington and Steve (Lee) Oliverio of Wilson, N.C.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces; and his long time companion, Helen Wright.
Deceased are brothers Pete and Tony, who both died in childhood, and John and Joe Oliverio.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 28, at Redstone Court Condominiums Community Room, 820 South Main Street, Washington.
