Bruce Carlos Arroyo
Bruce Carlos Arroyo, 55, of Washington, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018, in his home.
He was born May 29, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of Pearl Medlen Hutter of Washington, his late stepfather, Cope Hutter, and his late father, Jorge Arroyo.
A 1979 graduate of Burgettstown High School, he also attended Rosedale Technical Institute.
Bruce worked at Giant Eagle in Washington, Advanced Auto Parts in Bethel Park, Lowe’s, Amoco, as well as a bus driver for Laidlaw and an EMT for Ambulance and Chair.
A jack of all trades, as evidenced by his eclectic work history, he loved to fix things and to go fishing. A man who loved to help others, Bruce opened his arms to everyone.
His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
On May 31, 1996, he married Barbara Ferguson, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Anthony (April) Arroyo, Joe (Nicole) Arroyo and Steven (Jessica) Arroyo, all of Washington; two daughters, Angela (Dustin) Durbin of Avella and Sara (Joey) Shamay of Bentleyville; four siblings, Christopher “Chris” (Tammy Jo) Arroyo of Washington, Lori (Jeff) Arroyo-Chappel of Washington, Daniel “Danny” Arroyo of Washington and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Arroyo of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico; 11 grandchildren, Austin, Dakota, Hailee, Faith, Sheldan, Milee and Declan Arroyo, Noah Durbin, and Stephen, Josie and Jaxson Shamay; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, December 29, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington. There will be no services.
