Phalaine L. Awishus
Phalaine L. “Fay” Awishus, 97, of Washington, died Monday, December 24, 2018, in Southminster Place of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
She was born October 28, 1921, in Jamestown, N.D., a daughter of the late Fred and Laura M. Asp Benson.
Mrs. Awishus was a graduate of West High School in Minneapolis, Minn., and went on to work as a human resources manager at Dayton’s Department Store in Minneapolis.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, and enjoyed traveling.
On June 21, 1941, in Arlington, Minn., she married Ervin H. Awishus, who died February 11, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters, Maureen F. (Bradford) Shearer of Washington and Laurel M. (Kathy Adelsheim) Awishus of Santa Fe, N.M.; four grandchildren, Gail Pinkney, Laurie Shearer, Nancy Griffin and Brian Shearer; 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-granchildren.
Fay received kind and loving care at Southminster Place.
