Philip A. “Bud” James, 84, a lifelong resident of McDonald, died peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday, December 26, 2018.

He was born March 20, 1934, in McDonald, a son of the late William and Mildred Beck James.

Mr. James retired from Woodville State Hospital in 1991, after more than 30 years of service. He also worked at the former Mobil Gas Station, the former Masquelier Ford and McDonald Ford dealerships.

He spent his life helping friends fix their cars and helping them with anything else they might need. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes.

On August 25, 1960, he married Patricia Ann Grohoski, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Walter James of McDonald; three daughters, Jackie (Jim) Stewart of Orrington, Maine, Jill (the late Jack) Ducore of Carrick and Tammy (Jim) McGuire of Ross Township; two sisters, Edith (the late Dale) Pruse and Elsie (the late Gilbert) Kovach, both of McDonald; and two grandsons that were his pride and joy, Aiden and Declan McGuire.

Deceased are two brothers, Paul (the late Bonnie) and John (the late Marion) James.

All services are private and under the direction of Nation Funeral Home Inc., McDonald. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
