Carl William Hildreth
Carl William Hildreth, 88, of Nineveh, passed peacefully Sunday, December 30, 2018, in his home with family by his side.
A son of the late James Judd Hildreth and Lorena R. Goins Hildreth, Carl was married to the love of his life, Alice McCain Hildreth for 58 years before her death on November 27, 2016.
Mr. Hildreth worked at Duncan & Miller Glass factory in Washington and also worked as a car salesman. Following these jobs, he worked for ABC breeders. In 1960, Carl bought and started the family farm, where he raised both dairy and beef cattle for many years. The farm still operates today under his son and grandson, Clark and Jeremiah.
Mr. Hildreth also served as township supervisor and constable for Morris Township. He was known by most people as a jokester. He was always happy and had something funny to say. He loved hunting and it seemed he always got a buck the first day of deer season. His favorite thing to do, though, was run the farm.
Surviving are his children, Alfred Clark (Rosemary) Hildreth of Graysville and Carol Bolyard of Sycamore; five grandchildren, Jessica (Cody) Bissett, Jason (Ashley) Hildreth, Danielle (Zakk) Bolyard, Jeremiah (Megan) Hildreth and Nicolette (Jawon) Bolyard; four great-grandchildren, Colt, Kolten, Dalton and Gracie; three sisters, Ellen White of Greensboro, Myra Gibson of Rogersville and Nancy (Bert) Hanson of Dalton, Ohio.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, Curtis and James Hildreth, and sister Joann Fritz.
Private visitation and services will be held by the family.
Milliken and Throckmorton FH Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, are entrusted with his arrangements. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery.
