Stella Irene Maloy
Stella Irene Maloy, 63, of Washington, died Saturday, December 29, 2018, in Washington Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.
She was born May 20, 1955, in Washington, a daughter of the late Charles and Emma Diamond McCartney.
Mrs. Maloy graduated from Washington High School in 1973. She worked as a cook at Kid Biz for over 20 years and for Kellington Protection Services for seven years.
Mrs. Maloy was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She loved traveling and vacationing, going to concerts and being with family, especially her grandkids.
On November 4, 1989, she married Arthur Maloy, who died January 3, 2006.
Surviving are a daughter, Dana Matyjasek (David) of Washington; two stepsons, Charles Maloy (Christine) and Mark Maloy, both of Washington; sister Emma Newman-Romano (Chris) of Fairmont, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Charles Wood (Jessica), Jessica Wood-Boy (Luis), Jerimiah Maloy, Jeffrey Maloy and Raymond Hackney; five great-grandchildren, Bryce, Tally, Tatum, Antonio and Smythe; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Charles, Lawrence and Wallace McCartney.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 3, with the Rev. Fred McCloskey officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
