Mary Figura Allison, 94, of Bulger, died of age-related illness Monday, February 5, 2018, in Washington. She was born May 2, 1923, in Erie Mine, a daughter of the late John and Mary Sentipal Figura. She was a lifelong resident of the area. On November 22, 1945, she married Stanley Allison. They moved to Bulger, where she remained a lifelong resident. Mrs. Allison loved gardening, canning and cooking. As a child of the Great Depression, she taught all her children the value of hard work, saving and not wasting anything. Her family and friends will always remember she had a heart that was as big as the great outdoors and no one left her house hungry or without some care package of homemade jelly, cabbage rolls or homemade pierogis with homemade cheese. She was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church in Bulger, where she taught CCD and was an avid volunteer for years, helping with church fundraising activities. Surviving are six children, Edward (Sharon) Allison, Steven (Arlene) Allison, Cynthia (Don Greer) Michelucci, Nancy (Mark) Petrel, David (Rose) Allison and Robert (Judy) Allison; her grandchildren, Eddie Allison, Christopher Allison, Lauri Alt, Jennifer (Josh) Whitford, Lisa (Chris) Litchfield, Steven (Priscilla) Allison, Joseph (Gemma) Michelucci, Robert Michelucci, Michael (Katie Fehl) Michelucci, Jimmy (Lori) Petrel, Jamie (Jim) Petrel, Jenna (Joe) Denton, Jessica (Craig) Chamberlain, Joshua (Rohini) Allison, Jacob (Tara) Allison, Daniel Allison, Andy (Stephanie) Allison, Amy (Greg) Coleman and Jonathon (Becca) Allison; and her great-grandchildren, Erica, Levi, Mason, Beau, Ace, Allysa, Matthew, Jett, Jaylee, Emerson, Adriana, Chrissy, Alexandra, Mea, Antonio, Aidriana, Alexandria, Amelia, Corbin, Trista, Cadence, Kylena, Sabrina, James, Cora, Adeline, Broderick, Terrance, Kylie, Avery and Connor; and a great-great-grandson, Terry Lee, all of whom she was tremendously proud. Also surviving is her sister, Elizabeth Budash of Upper St. Clair. Deceased are her husband, Stanley, who died October 16, 1981; her siblings, Pete Roman, Johnny Figura, Mary Ann Figura and Annie Meccanic; and a son-in-law, Frank Michelucci. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 9, in St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Bulger, with the Rev. George Chortos as celebrant.
