John R. “Jack” Frantz, 87, of Washington, died Thursday, February 1, 2018.

He was born April 8, 1930, in Monessen, a son of the late John A. and Margaret Marino Frantz.

Mr. Frantz graduated from Washington High School in 1948 and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

He was employed for 33 years at National Annealing Box Co., before going to work for the federal government, from where he retired.

Mr. Frantz served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. He was also a member of Keystone Club and enjoyed golf.

On August 11, 1950, he married Marie Burnfield of Washington, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Matthew (Diane) Frantz of Washington; two daughters, Kathleen Warren of Tampa, Fla., and Jacqueline (Randell) Sehres of Valrico, Fla.; a sister; Peggy Waldygo of Washington; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his mother and father, deceased are two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Frantz and Elaine McAnany.
