Anna Christine Shawver, 37, of Redding, Calif., passed away into the arms of her Savior, following a lengthy illness, Tuesday, January 16, 2018, in University of California-Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, Calif. She was unafraid of dying and very strong in her faith.
She was born September 4, 1980, in Washington, a daughter of Samuel R. Shawver of Williamstown, W.Va., and Karen A. Pryor Shawver of Scenery Hill.
As a child, she attended Waverly (W.Va.) Elementary School and Alliance Christian School in Morgantown, W.Va. She was home-schooled from sixth to 12th grade. She attended Shasta Community College in Redding, where she studied graphic design.
Ms. Shawver attended Bethel Church in Redding.
Her passion in life was helping the poor, and she did so during her travels to schools, and on mission trips through Calvary Campground in Ashland, Va. An energetic young lady, she loved to read, sing and play guitar with her sisters. She also enjoyed cross-stitch, photography, creative writing and art.
Ms. Shawver was gifted in working with children, and they loved her wherever she went. She was a bright light to her family, and her laughter will forever be missed.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two sisters, Leah K. (Eben) Haught of Vienna, W.Va., and Laura C. (Charles) Miller of Washington; two nephews, Levi and Benjamin Haught; paternal grandmother Patricia Shawver of Williamstown; as well as hundreds of friends who will miss her dearly.
