George A. McNurlen II, 70, of Scenery Hill, died Sunday, February 4, 2018.
He was born June 24, 1947, in Washington, a son of the late George A. and Wilma VanVoorhis McNurlen.
Mr. McNurlen graduated from Bentworth High School. He was a retired disabled veteran, serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. While in the military, he received the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal and many other honors.
He was a member of American Legion Washington Post 175.
Mr. McNurlen is survived by a daughter, Nichole Leah McNurlen of Scenery Hill; a granddaughter, Alexa M. Linhart; three sisters, Betty Dolan of Scenery Hill, JoAnn (Stuart) Miller of Washington and Linda L. Hudak of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition his parents, is a sister, Wilma Jean McNurlen.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15345, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 9. Interment will follow in National Cemeteries of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
