Nancy Phillips, 88, of Burlington, N.C., passed away at 10 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018, in Alamance House, Burlington.
A native of Vestaburg, she was the wife of Julius Phillips, who survives, and a daughter of Thomas Rankin and Helen Staley Rankin, both deceased.
Mrs. Phillips was formerly employed by Pittsburgh Mercantile Co. and was a co-owner of Village Market, both in Vestaburg.
On February 2, 1952, she married Julius Phillips, and just last week, they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary together.
She enjoyed cooking cabbage rolls, gobs and other homemade recipes for family and friends. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her sons and grandkids play sports. She enjoyed her visits and travels to North Carolina.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include two sons, Ju Ju Phillips of Hickory and Jeffrey A. Phillips (Carol) of Burlington; two grandchildren, Kelby A. Phillips of McLeansville, N.C., and Zachary T. Phillips of Whitsett, N.C.; and a brother, John Robert Rankin (Catherine) of Cleveland, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
