William R. Morgan, 87, of Washington, died Saturday, February 3, 2018, in The Grove at Washington.
He was born March 13, 1930, in Washington, a son of the late Evan R. and Effie Hutchinson Morgan.
Mr. Morgan graduated from Washington High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, earning a Korean Service Ribbon with three stars, China Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal.
A member of the Teamsters, he worked in printing food packaging and wrapping. He also owned Bill’s Janitorial Services.
Mr. Morgan was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and Pulaski Club.
He lived in the state of California for many years, prior to returning to Washington.
Surviving are a daughter, Julie Ann (Don) Pendergast of Arizona; a brother, Lawrence (Kay) Morgan of Washington; two sisters, Barbara (Dan) Gagich and Joan DePaoli, both of Washington; three grandchildren, Kim, Aaron and Kelly; and a son-in-law, Gene Ross.
Deceased are a son, Billy; a daughter, Bobbi Lea Ross; a grandson, Kevin; two brothers, Harry “Hezzy” and Richard Morgan; and two sisters, Mary Ann Guido and Rachel Kinkel.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 8, with the Rev. Robert Grewe officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
