Betty Jo Zelinsky, 80, of New Eagle, formerly of Finleyville, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018, in ManorCare Health Services, McMurray.
She was born February 3, 1938, in Monongahela, a daughter of Joseph Lee and Betty Davis Howard.
Mrs. Zelinsky was a 1956 graduate of Monongahela High School.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville.
Mrs. Zelinsky retired after 20 years of employment as a custodian for Ringgold School District. After retirement, she worked for several years at Cicci Dance Supplies in Finleyville.
She enjoyed genealogy and trips to casinos and loved spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are her husband, Edward G. Zelinsky, with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage August 24, 2017; three daughters, Joni Verduci and husband Fran of Carroll Township, Jill Zelinsky of Reading and Lisa Knavish and husband Tim of Peters Township; four grandchildren, Matt Verduci and fiancée Courtney Baker-Schroat, Eric Verduci and Kylie and Mia Knavish; and a brother, Richard Howard of Georgia.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 9, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville, with the Rev. Robert M. Miller as celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
