Karl William Russell died Wednesday, December 27, 2017, in his home in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., with family by his side.
He was born in Pittsburgh and loved his early years in Burgettstown. He attended Robert Morris Business School and served his country during the Korean War.
Mr. Russell married Jean Lee in 1955; they were married for more than 62 years and had two sons.
He was employed by General Signal Corp. as a comptroller and moved every four or five years to work in various branches. Later, he worked for Hehr International in California.
After he retired, Mr. Russell and Jean traveled for six months throughout the United States. They came to Havasu, had a house built and lived there for 16 years.
He volunteered in his church and community, including Hospice of Havasu, the Senior Center and the dementia group as treasurer.
Mr. Russell and his wife lived in Prescott Valley, Ariz., for seven years, before coming back to Havasu. He was retired for 30 years.
Survivinh are his wife, Jean; sons Barr (Hellen) of Chino, Calif., and Jay of Ontario, Calif.; grandson Tyler (Heather) of Chino; sister Robin of Denver, Colo.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held January 13 at Community Presbyterian Church, Lake Havasu City.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu or Community Presbyterian Church, Lake Havasu City.
