Theodore Virgil Headley, 74, of Taylorstown, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born August 6, 1943, in Washington, a son of the late Jesse and Ola Blayne Headley.
Mr. Headley graduated from Washington High School. A diesel mechanic for most of his career, he retired from Joe Walker Elementary School, where he worked as a custodian.
In his youth, he played catcher and pitcher for Pony League baseball.
Mr. Headley enjoyed playing dartball for Laboratory Presbyterian Church and going to Trader Jack’s. He collected antique pendulum clocks and liked Studebakers.
Mr. Headley was a member of Taylorstown Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, and Taylorstown Volunteer Fire Department, until he retired.
On December 10, 1988, he married Darlene Plants, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Matthew (Erin) Piatt of Washington; brother, Harold Headley of Annapolis, Md.; and four grandchildren, David and Caleb Voytek and Gauge and Mallory Piatt.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 19, with the Rev. Donna Christopher officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
