David Brian Boyer, 57, of Weirton, W.Va., formerly of Burgettstown, passed away Sunday morning, February 18, 2018, in The Greenery Center, Canonsburg, from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in September 2017.
He was born December 25, 1960, a son of the late Clarence Jackson “Sam” and Charlotte Jean Havelka Boyer.
Born and raised in Burgettstown, he was a graduate of Burgettstown High School and worked as a truck driver for Stark Van Line, B.F.I. and the oil and gas industry before working as a maintenance mechanic for Jones Lang Lasalle, a subsidiary of Bayer Corp. in Pittsburgh.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Mr. Boyer was a member of Paris Sportsman’s Club, International Order of Odd Fellows in Wheeling, W.Va., and the Building Owners Welfare Fund Local 95 Union of Pittsburgh.
He is survived by his beloved wife Tracy Schoolcraft Boyer, whom he married September 26, 1992; his daughter, Ashley Boyer, at home; brothers and sisters Carolyn Orgovan and husband Richard of Burgettstown, Robin Mackey and husband Buster of North Carolina, Goldie Mitchem and husband Danny, James Boyer, Helen “Pinky” Boyer and Paul Boyer, all of Burgettstown; his mother-in-law and father-in-law David and Carol Schoolcraft of Weirton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is his brother, Jack Boyer.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., the time of services, Wednesday, February 21, in Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his family.
