D. Edward “Bake” Baker, 69, of Washington, died Saturday, February 17, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

He was born March 27, 1948, in Washington, a son of Charles H. and Elsie Mae Postlethwait Baker.

Mr. Baker was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving in the Vietnam Conflict.

He was a member of Claysville American Legion Post 639 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 927, Washington.

Surviving are two children, Justin “Buddy” Baker and Jessica Baker, both of Washington; five grandchildren, Rayven, Silas and Adelyn Baker, and Kilian and Riley Thomas; his former wife, Diane Baker of Washington; and his companion, Cindy Allen.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 22, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Full military honors will be afforded by the U.S. Marines and Claysville American Legion Post 639.
