Harry O. Hibbs
Harry O. Hibbs, 84, of Jefferson, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 18, 2018, in Washington Hospital.
He was born January 9, 1934, in Clover Hill, a son of the late Orion I. Hibbs and Sevilla M. Weaver Hibbs.
Mr. Hibbs was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1956 to 1958. He was known for his pristine yard, being a handyman and loving his chihuahua. His wife, Diane M. Hibbs, whom he married March 24, 1987, survives. Mr. Hibbs resided in Jefferson for the past 30 years.
Also surviving are a stepson, Leo L. Butcher; three stepdaughters, Mabel M. Butcher of Bedford, Diane M. Valentine and husband Rob of Everette and Brenda L. Butcher of Johnstown; nine grandchildren; brother Alvin Hibbs and wife Carol of Shipasewna, Mich.; two sisters, Stella Franks of Bentleyville and Helen Stang of Pittsburgh; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three sisters, Louise Yabiuk, Clara Hough and a sister who died in infancy, and two brothers, Ray and Ivan Hibbs.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, February 22, in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street, Route 88, Carmichaels. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Gibson officiating.
