Donald J. Jendrey, 70, of Morristown, Tenn., passed away Friday, February 16, 2018, in his residence.
A carpenter by profession and devoted Christian dedicated to the study of God’s word, he graduated from Messiah College in Mechanicsburg with a degree in biblical theology and was a member of Project Healing Waters in Asheville, N.C. He was an U.S. Army veteran serving with the IV infantry division during the Vietnam War.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Audrey Jendrey; daughters Deborah (Mike) Garrison, Heather Barry Hawkins, Joanne Jendrey (Wayne Lind) and Esther Joy (Sgt. 1st Class Joshua) Kessler; grandchildren Crystall Buff, Jasmine Early, Megan Dear, Holley Barry, Haidyn Hawkins, Hilaria Tello, Haley Lind, Savanna, and Jake and Kadence Kessler; and four great-grandchildren; his devoted cat Twitches; and sister Kathy Harper.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, February 23, in Mayes Mortuary, 444 West Main Street, Morristown, TN 37814. Military graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Mountain Home Veterans Cemetery in Johnson City, Tenn. Arrangements by Mayes Mortuary.
