Harry Newton Morris, 89, of Holbrook, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018, in Evergreen Assisted Living, Waynesburg.

Born August 31, 1928, in Jackson Township, he was a son of the late Stoy Edison and Sarah Ann Rhome Morris.

Mr. Morris was a lifelong resident of Aleppo and Jackson Township.

On August 17, 1948, he married Martha Jane Riggle. They were happily married for 64 years.

He worked for various companies, such as Don’s Dozer Service, Alex E. Paris Contracting and Dunmar Oil & Gas Co. for 32 years, until he retired in 1993.

Mr. Morris was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. He enjoyed raccoon and small game hunting. He was a Jackson Township supervisor for six years, until he retired in 1993.

He is survived by two children, Ronald (Bonnie) Morris of Holbrook and Linda (Russell) McCollum of Sycamore; three grandchildren, Stacy Campion, Stephanie McCollum and Michelle Morris; a great-grandchild, Sean Campion; a sister, Betty Jean (Ralph) Weaver; and two brothers, Jack and Herman Morris.

In addition to his parents, deceased are his wife, Martha Jane Morris, who passed away April 20, 2013; three sisters, Vada Pettit, Mabel Crawford and Midge Temple; and a great-grandchild at birth, Liam Campion.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC., 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, with the Rev. Vernon K. Berdine officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery, Jackson Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
