John S. Signorello

John S. Signorello of McDonald passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his sons, John (Colleen Shields) and Joseph Signorello.

Mr. Signorello was the grandfather of Rebecca Signorello, Joseph Signorello Jr., Beth Martin (Scott), Christopher Signorello, Dawn Schneider (Steven) and Shelly Kuzma (Michael); brother of the late Bennie Signorello and Marie Ann Signorello Dabat; and loving companion of Norma Jean Blussick. He was tenderly cared for by Norma’s children, Robert Blussick (Erin) and Debbie Ferrari, and grandchildren Jasmine Hughes (Jimmy), Justin Blussick, Savannah Blussick, Zoe Blussick (goddaughter) and Dylan Blussick.

Born in Carnegie, he moved to France during World War II with his mother, brother and sister. As an American citizen trapped in occupied France, he aided the French Resistance. After coming home to the United States, Mr. Signorello proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War era.

A true patriot, Mr. Signorello loved his country and spoke proudly and with great honor of his time with the U.S. Navy.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in McDermott Funeral Home Inc., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Township, where a blessing service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, February 26. Interment with U.S. Navy military honors will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
