William E. Wilkins

William E. Wilkins, 77, of Joffre, died Sunday, February 25, 2018, in Premier Washington Health Center, Chartiers Township.

He was born July 7, 1940, in Hanover Township, a son of the late William and Anna Angelo Wilkins.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Wilkins was employed by Chemical Tank Lines in Paris and Climax Molybdenum in Langeloth. Upon retiring, he then worked as a ranger for Ponderosa Golf Course in Hookstown.

He served in the U.S. Army Military Police.

Mr. Wilkins was an avid golfer and, when not golfing, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

On March 16, 1963, he married Ann Orgovan, who survives.

Also surviving are his children, Terry Bailey of Joffre, Richard Mull of McDonald, Tracy (Lud) Stetar of Hanover Township and Billie Jo (Rick) Bernola of Burgettstown; his siblings, Jim Wilkins of Joffre, Mike Wilkins of New York, Tom Wilkins of Weirton, W.Va., Patricia Crago of Weirton, Rosemarie McClements of Weirton, Peggy Dorich of New York and Renee Anderson of Weirton; his grandchildren, Shannon, Ashley, Lacy, Ashley, Katie, Amanda, Derek and Ricky; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, with his grandson, Pastor Derek Cummins, officiating. Interment will be held in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military honors accorded by Slovan-Burgettstown Veterans of Foreign Wars.
