Frank “Skinner” Calabro, 88, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 26, 2018, in his home.

He was born July 30, 1929, in Muse, a son of the late Dominick and Frances Zampaglione Calabro.

On June 26, 1965, he married Janet R. Pykosh, who survives.

Mr. Calabro was a military veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Muse and a lifelong member of Muse Independent Club.

Mr. Calabro was employed as a steelworker for Universal Cyclops, until his retirement.

He enjoyed building models, sitting on his tractor and cutting the grass in his yard, and the simpler things in life, like sitting on his porch and observing wildlife.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Frank John Calabro (Brenda) of Canonsburg; daughter, Francine Rose Bryan (Jon) of Cecil; grandchildren Frank James Calabro and Samantha and Sabrina Bryan; three sisters-in-law, Alice, Joan and Myrna Calabro; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Calabro was the last of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents, deceased are brothers Paul, Carmen and Anthony Calabro and sister Fortunata Compeggie, who passed away January 8, and her husband Joe Compeggie.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will begin at 11:20 a.m. Friday, March 2, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in Holy Rosary Church, 246 Muse-Bishop Road, Muse, PA 15317. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville. Military honors will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 and the U.S. Army.
