Edgar E. Cox, 70, of Bentleyville, formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in his home.
He was born March 11, 1947, in Washington, a son of James Lyle and Tiny Pearl Thompson Cox.
Mr. Cox worked as a truck driver for Old Dominion Freight Lines, retiring in 2014.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1964 to 1967.
Mr. Cox enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, James Lyle (Lena) Cox of Bentleyville; two daughters, Vickie Lynn (Jon) King of Washington and Christie Love (William) Thomas of Eighty Four; six grandchildren, Jeramie and Jesse Templeton, Stephen Murphy II, Michelle Gaal, Sarah Moon and Levi Thomas; a brother, Raymond (Ruth) Cox of Springfield, Mo.; and a sister, Janis Gray of Washington.
Deceased are two granddaughters, Jessica Chambers and Angela Redmond; two brothers, Frank and Jim Moss; and two sisters, Glenora Aloia and Jean Miller.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
