Roland Sanders
Roland “Slick” Sanders, 65, of Carmichaels, died at 9:24 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, in his home, following a brief illness.
He was born October 19, 1952, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Roland B. and Gladys G. Hughes Sanders.
Mr. Sanders worked at West Penn Wire in Washington for about 25 years.
He was a member of Greene County Citizens Club in Crucible and enjoyed antique and older cars, fishing and his pets. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
On December 23, 1978, he married Susan Mae Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, William J. Johnson of Holbrook; two grandchildren, Austin Wise and Kalsey Shaye Johnson; three brothers, Michael J. Sanders of Mt. Morris, Jasper L. Sanders of Jefferson and Glenn Sanders of Spraggs; six sisters, Deborah Strickler and husband Joseph of Maidsville, W.Va., Lois Hanlan and Jaqueline Sanders, both of Bobtown, Mary Jane Grim of Point Marion, Valerie Davis and husband Russell of Bridgeport, Ohio, and Lisa Sanders of Mt. Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are three sisters, Gladys Mae Grim, Catherine Strickler and Ethel Hanlan.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, in Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, with Pastor Cathie Carpenter officiating.
