Shirley B. Hein, 77, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, in her home.

She was born March 8, 1940, in East Finley, a daughter of the late Spencer and Mary Brownlee Bedilion.

On May 8, 1965, she married Rodger G. Hein, who died February 5, 2010.

Mrs. Hein was a member of Chestnut Grove Independent Church and a McGuffy High School graduate.

She enjoyed vacations, church and church activities, plays and musicals. She loved going with her friends and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a huge Elvis fan.

Mrs. Hein worked as a phlebotomist for DuBois Hospital and did insurance physicals.

Surviving are two children, a son, Keith Hein of Marion Center and a daughter, Barbara Johnston and husband James of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren, Lindsey and Allysa Hein, David Smiley and wife Virginia, Michael Smiley and wife Brittany and Craig Smiley and fiancée Amanda McClintock; two great-grandchildren, Lane Smiley and Danicka Barger; and her friend, Fred Leech.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are three brothers, Paul, Harry and Wayne Bedilion.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 4, in Chestnut Grove Independent Church, Punxsutawney, with Pastor Joe Spack officiating. Interment will be in Round Top Cemetery, Trade City.
