Helen Venick
Helen Venick, 99, of Elmcroft Senior Living, Chippewa, formerly of Clarksville, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
She was born December 3, 1918, in Beckley, W.Va., a daughter of the late John and Helen Fekete Kapes.
Mrs. Venick took pride in being a homemaker. She loved cooking and baking, gardening, crocheting (donating lap blankets to senior citizens), crafts and walking for exercise, being very proud of her walk-a-thon medals.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville and Deemston Grange 1372. She was very active in Clarksville Area Senior Citizens Club.
On October 30, 1940, she married John Venick, her husband of 68 years, who passed away October 29, 2008.
Surviving are two children, Carol Natali of Chippewa and John Venick Jr. of Barnesville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Craig Natali, Jason (Linda) Natali, Seth Venick and Nichole (Shawn) Clouse; and seven great-grandchildren, Marcus and Ciro Natali, Nolan and Aidan Natali and Avery, Macguire and Ansley Clouse.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two brothers, John and Louis Kapes.
Elmcroft Senior Living provided Mrs. Venick with loving and compassionate care.
Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Saturday, January 6, in Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, with Father Chris Burke officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
