Jason Paul Chekosky, 43, of Greensboro, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 1, 2018, in his home, from a major stroke.
He was born March 26, 1974, in Waynesburg, a son of Paul and Penny Ellenberger Chekosky.
Mr. Chekosky was a 1992 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School, where he was voted Carmichaels Lion’s Club Student of the Month. He attended Waynesburg College for two years.
He lived his entire life in the Carmichaels and Greensboro areas. He was self-employed and owner of a contracting business. He worked in three states and never refused a job.
Mr. Chekosky took care of three churches and was caretaker of Sugar Grove Cemetery, which he dearly loved. He was an avid West Virginia Mountaineers, Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR fan.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his beloved maternal grandmother, Audie Marie Ellenberger; a very special uncle, Jerry Ellenberger, who called him “Sweet Little Man”; many cousins, friends and his Cottrill’s family.
He leaves behind his special pet cat, Snowball.
Mr. Chekosky was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pete and Veronica Chekosky, and his maternal grandfather, Lawrence Ellenberger.
He was a gentle giant who loved nature, animals, four wheelers, anything with a motor and his girls in the hollow.
Friends will be received from noon to 6 p.m., the time of service, Friday, January 5, in Louis E. Rudolph Funeral Home, Thomas B. Rudolph, director/supervisor, 15 North Main Street, Point Marion, with the Rev. Patricio Aborde of St. Hubert Roman Catholic Church and Pastor Gale Cobb officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Bobtown United Methodist Church, in care of Arnold Friend, P.O. Box 172, Bobtown, PA 15315, or Sugar Grove Baptist Church, in care of John Rowe, 490 Mapletown Road, Garards Fort, PA 15334.
