Frances Martha “Fran” Klinger Resetar, 83, of Cecil, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in St. Mary’s Nursing Center, Lansdale.

She was born February 22, 1934, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Michael and Bridget Jurczyk Klinger.

Mrs. Resetar was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Canonsburg, and attended St. Mary Parish, Cecil.

She was a 1952 graduate of Cecil High School and went on to graduate from Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She completed a bachelor’s degree in nursing at California University of Pennsylvania.

Through the years, she worked as a nurse at Washington Hospital, Woodville State Hospital in Collier Township, John Kane Hospital in Scott Township and St. Clair Hospital in Mt. Lebanon, followed by teaching practical nursing skills at Western Area Career and Technical Center in Canonsburg.

Mrs. Resetar was community-minded, working with 4-H, church CCD instruction, Junior Auxiliary of Cecil American Legion Post 793, McDonald-Cecil Senior Citizens and Cecil Township community activities. She was also a board member of Canon-McMillan schools.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, playing cards and board games.

Surviving are two daughters, Diana Marie Ward of Lansdale and Carol Ann (William) Wolford of Graham, N.C.; three granddaughters, Lesley Ann Ward of Astoria, N.Y., Jessica Nicole (Vincent) Jeffrey of New York, N.Y., and Christina Lee (Adam) Senger of Gastonia, N.C.; nieces Stephanie Kish, Rose Marie (James) Robinson, Barbara (Charles) Barton, Kathy (Mike) Troxler and Sharon (Chris) Lujan; and nephews Joseph Radinsky, Dennis Radinsky, Kenneth (Betsy) Radinsky and Jason (Gina) DiNardo.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband of 55 years, Michael Resetar, and a sister, Blanche Kish.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, where prayers of transfer will be said at 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 8, followed by a Christian funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Cecil, with Father Stan Gregorek officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
