Brenda Joyce Cole, 77, of Waynesburg, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, in her home, with her family by her side.
Born June 17, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Harold and Melinda Anne Kerr Richmond.
Mrs. Cole was a lifetime resident of Wayne Township.
On August 27, 1956, she married Paul Maynard Cole, who is deceased. They were married for 59 years, co-owned Cole Plumbing & Heating for 32 years and retired in 2008.
Mrs. Cole was a member of Pursley Baptist Church, where she was the treasurer for 17 years. She was also a member of Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461 and Waynesburg Elks Lodge 757. She was active in Arbor Terrace Bowling League from 1974 to 1996.
She loved spending winters in Florida with her husband. She was an avid bird watcher and could name most just by sight. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and making sure her grandchildren were well loved.
Surviving are three children, Pam (Lindsey) Kiger of Wayne Township, David (Tracy) Cole of Wayne Township and Paula (Bruce) Johnson of Youngwood; eight grandchildren, Jonathan and Trent Hopkins, Tristan, Hannah and Brendan Cole, Kenneth and Kayla Duvall and Desarae Johnson; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Vicki (Bud) McHenry of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Ruth (Terry) Tewell of Arizona.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Hopkins, in 2015.
Friends may be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC., 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 12, with Dave McElroy officiating. Graveside service will follow in Pursley Baptist Cemetery, Wayne Township.
