C. E. Vance

C. E. “Spike” Vance, 87, of Cumming, Ga., formerly of Brandon, Fla., passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Vance was a Clemson graduate and a true Tigers fan.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Vance, and his wife, Sandy Vance.

Surviving are daughters Alison Compton, Pam (Mike) Lee and Teena (Warren) Runnels; grandchildren Jeramy (Monica) Compton, Michael Lee, Josh (Christina) Shannon, Matthew (Larissa) Compton, Sam (Erin) Lee, Taryn Runnels and Emilee Runnels; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 18, in Keystone Heights (Fla.) Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Mr. Vance’s name to Materials Science & Engineering, Clemson University, 515 Calhoun Drive, 161 Sirrine Hall, Clemson, SC 29634, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
