Emmajo Breese

Emmajo Breese, 81, of Claysville, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in her home.

She was born September 17, 1936, a daughter of the late Earl Levi and Evelyn Hester Supler Martin.

Mrs. Breese was a 1954 graduate of Claysville High School.

On February 23, 1957, she married Homer D. Breese, who passed away in August 2015.

She was born and raised in Greene County and then moved to Washington County, where she spent the last 60 years of her life.

Mrs. Breese started college at age 48 and attended B.M. Spurr Nursing School in Glendale, W.Va. She retired from Washington County Health Center in 1997, after 11 years of employment.

She was the proud owner and operator for more than 50 years of Breese Personal Care Home, where she cared for many residents.

Mrs. Breese was a devoted member of Rolling Hills Chapel Church in Claysville.

She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Her biggest passion in life was spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her six children, Jeffrey D. (Vickie) Breese of Claysville, Kathy J. (John) Shape of Cassville, Keith E. Breese of Claysville, Tammy L. (Tim) Pattison of Claysville, Lorena D. (Tom) Pattison of Washington and Bradley L. (Kim) Breese of Phoenixville; 17 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Zoe) Breese, Bobbie Jo (Chad) Teagarden, Bradley (Keriann) Richmond, Leah Shape, Katie Breese, Phillip (Sandy) Breese, Brian (Naomi) Breese, Michelle (Jeff) Savage, Timmy (Noelle) Pattison, Dwayne (Heather) Pattison, Marina Hanes, Brittany (Jeff) Madoni, Ryan (Jill) Pattison, Marissa (Jeff) Pattison, Danielle (Larry) Gasperone, Jake Breese and Dawn (Justin) Greenleaf; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mona Lou (Floyd) Beatty of Claysville and Sandy (Bob) Boyle of Columbiana, Ohio; a brother, Bill (Carol) Martin of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two grandchildren, Stephen M. Breese and John Ray Carr, and three brothers, Donley Martin, Edward Martin and Dave Martin.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Rolling Hills Chapel Church, 214 Timber Lake Road, Claysville, PA 15323, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, January 14, with the Rev. Jill Briggs and the Rev. Paul Thomas co-officiating. A graveside service will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
