Margaret Bertha Prihode Pepka
Margaret Bertha Prihode Pepka, 94, of Monongahela (Victory Hill), died Tuesday, January 9, 2018, in her home.
She was born October 4, 1923, in Monongahela, a daughter of Joseph J. and Margaret Hobaugh Prihode.
A lifelong resident of Victory Hill, Mrs. Pepka was a 1942 graduate of Monongahela High School.
She was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Monongahela. She was also a member for more than 25 years of Mon Valley Hospital Auxiliary.
Family was of the utmost importance to her. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who took pride in giving to others. Mrs. Pepka was a homemaker who loved to work in her flower garden, bake and cook for her family.
Surviving are a son, Butch Pepka, and a daughter, Linda Pepka Zywan, both of Carroll Township; two granddaughters, Alexis Zywan of Finleyville and Nadia Zywan Seesock of Florida; a great-granddaughter, Tessa Seesock of Florida; and two sisters, Dorothy Elkin of Texas and Betty Vrable of Donora.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband of 60 years, Francis Peter Pepka, who died November 7, 2001; a son-in-law, David P. Zywan, who died June 6, 2016; a brother, Richard Prihode; and a sister, Irene Crompton.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Damien of Molokai Church, Monongahela, with the Rev. William Terza, pastor, as celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
