Shirley B. Grim, 89, of Wind Ridge, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in Cameron (W.Va.) Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born August 13, 1928, in Wind Ridge, a daughter of the late John William and Elva Lorena McGlumphy Baldwin.
Mrs. Grim was a 1947 graduate of Richhill High School and 1958 graduate of Irene’s Beauty Academy.
On June 19, 1947, she married Lloyd Pershing Grim, and they spent their life together in Wind Ridge, where Shirley had a lifelong career as a beautician. For 38 of those years, she owned and operated Shirley Grim’s Beauty Shop.
Mrs. Grim was a member of Wind Ridge Christian Church.
She was a past charter member and treasurer of Richhill Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She also served in the auxiliaries of several organizations, including Moose Lodge 461, Waynesburg, American Legion Post 18, Cameron, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793, Waynesburg. In addition to these organizations, she was also a member of Order of Eastern Star Emerald Chapter 135, Waynesburg.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews and longtime friends and neighbors Jessica (Justin) Carpenter and Marlene Campbell.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Lloyd Pershing Grim, who passed away in October 1978; a son, Lloyd Edward “Eddie” Grim, who passed in August 2002; a sister, Helen Aldene Brooks Henshaw; and a brother, Kenneth E. Baldwin.
A private graveside service will be held in Jacksonville Cemetery, Wind Ridge. Arrangements are entrusted to Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC, 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181.
