Harley N. Hartzell
Harley N. “Neil” Hartzell, 73, of Washington, died Friday, January 12, 2018, in Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital.
He was born July 4, 1944, in Wheeling, a son of the late Harley Lloyd Jr. and Dorothy J. Kerns Hartzell.
Mr. Hartzell was a 1962 graduate of Bridgeport (Ohio) High School.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a reconnaissance specialist and served on the USS Saratoga.
Mr. Hartzell was a construction superintendent for A&L Construction until his retirement.
He enjoyed hunting and tournament bass fishing and was a member of American Legion Post 656, West Alexander.
On July 1, 1966, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he married Nancy Lynn Watson, who died December 19, 2014.
Surviving are a daughter, Teri (Lloyd) Amos of Claysville; a brother, Roger (Jane) Hartzell of St. Clairsville, Ohio; a sister, Bonnie Janos of Stroud, Okla.; a grandson, Austin (Emily Durila) Amos; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two children, Eric and Michelle Hartzell.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 18, with the Rev. Sue Petritis officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
