John Zajac, 78, of Cokeburg, died Saturday, January 13, 2018, in his home.
Born November 19, 1939, in Ellsworth, he is a son of John and Anna Klish Zajac.
He was Catholic and a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Zajac was retired from the former Findlay Refractory, Washington.
He was a member and secretary of Independent Club Bentleyville, past president of Polish Club Bentleyville, Lithuanian Club Bentleyville, social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Tidioute, American Legion Post 334 Tidioute, Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 615 Charleroi, Cokeburg Moose Lodge 1625, lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of Polish National Alliance. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed time with his wife and friends at camp.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra O’Brien Zajac; stepson Christopher (Adelena) Waters of Ellsworth; stepdaughter Cynthia (Howard) McLain of Portsmouth, Va.; brother Edwin (Antoinette) Zajac of Bethlehem; five stepgrandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; three nieces; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Francis Zajac and sister Ellsie Schaub.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 18, in Leonard M. Pavlic Funeral Homes Inc., 405 Main Street, Bentleyville, where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 19, with the Rev. Edward Yuhas presiding. Interment will be private.
