George W. Flenniken

George W. Flenniken, 81, of Waynesburg, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.
He was born March 13, 1936, in Garards Fort, a son of the late Clarence Flenniken and Mabel Molesy Flenniken.
Mr. Flenniken attended Dry Tavern Elementary School and later graduated from Jefferson-Morgan High School.
He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force under the 43rd Bomb Wing.
Mr. Flenniken was a member of Masonic Lodge 153, F&AM, Waynesburg.
He worked for the Democrat Messenger, Waynesburg University and did pipeline work. He also worked in Nemacolin and Emerald mines, retiring as a coal miner.
His wife, Ruth Ann Flenniken, whom he married January 29, 1957, died August 6, 2008.
Surviving is a brother, Lawrence “Ab” (Marjorie Diane) Flenniken of Carmichaels.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or services. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township. Arrangements are entrusted to Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
