Terry Randall Pepper, 67, of Eighty Four, passed away peacefully Monday, January 15, 2018, in his home.

He was born September 2, 1950, in Monte Vista, Colo., a son of Beatrice Pepper of Rockford, Ill., and the late Notley Pepper.

As a young man, Mr. Pepper enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served in the Vietnam conflict, earning numerous ribbons and awards. While stationed in Washington, D.C., he met the love of his life, Tona. They were married January 19, 1971.

After being honorably discharged, he settled with his family in Southwestern Pennsylvania. He worked as a coal miner at Mathies Mine and was an active member of United Mine Workers of America.

Mr. Pepper enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing cards and tinkering. What he most enjoyed was gabbing and joking with people. He was an especially outgoing guy who could pull anyone into a conversation.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, Beatrice, are his wife Tona May Yuvan; a son, Andrew Virgil; a daughter, Lisa Dawn; two sisters, Linda (Edwin) Pingel and Meri Rhonda (Roger) Smith; three brothers, Roger (Judy) Gray, Rex (Carol) Pepper and Kevin (Carrie) Pepper; his mother-in-law, May Moticko; in-laws Shirley and Richard Gottschalk, Tony and Dianna Yuvan and Linda and Ronald Cox; and many treasured nieces, nephews and friends.

He also leaves behind adored cats, notably Mr. Kitty.

Deceased, in addition to his father, Notley, are a brother, Timmy, and his father-in-law, Andrew Moticko.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 22. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with military rites accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, Washington.
