Joseph Tallerico, 93, of Waynesburg, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born July 17, 1924, in Duluth, Minn., a son of the late John and Dominica Gualtieri.
Mr. Tallerico was a longtime welder and union steward for Pipeliners Local 798, Tulsa, Okla. He worked all over the United States, including three years on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.
Upon his retirement, he enjoyed spending time on his farm, fishing with his great-grandchildren and welding art sculptures which can still be seen on his farm today.
Always by his side was his faithful companion, Harley, an Australian shepherd.
Mr. Tallerico was a member of Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge of Waynesburg.
In August 1947, he married June Moore, who died October 27, 1974.
Surviving are a son, Joseph Tallerico Jr. of Waynesburg; a daughter, Suzanne Rohanna and husband Gary of Waynesburg; three grandchildren, Michael Rohanna and wife Mary Kay, Jeremy Rohanna and wife Nikki and Courtney Rohanna; four great-grandchildren, Joel, Trey, Kaley and Craig Rohanna; two brothers, Frank Tallerico of Canonsburg and Dominic Tallerico of Baden; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a grandson, Gary K. Rohanna Jr.; and three brothers, Tony, John and James Tallerico.
Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. to noon, the hour of services, Friday, January 19, in Behm Funeral Home, 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with the Rev. Donald P. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Donnell House of Concordia Hospice of Washington.
