Bo Corwin, 71, of Florence, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, in his home, embraced by his wife, Mary Beth, and son, Brian.

He was born November 8, 1946, in Washington, a son of the late Chester Warren Sr. and Kathryn Theresa Valelle Corwin. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Bertha Lou “Sis” Corwin.

Mr. Corwin attended West Virginia University and Bethany College, from where he received a bachelor’s degree in education.

He was president and co-owner of Corwin Jeep in Hickory, which was the “world’s oldest jeep dealership.” He also co-owned West Pointe Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Burgettstown. Both were five-star dealerships.

Mr. Corwin was a member of Pennsylvania Auto Association and National Auto Dealers Association, as well as serving on Dodge Dealer Council.

He was one of the founding members of Washington County 4×4’s, a four-wheel drive club that grew to be one of the largest clubs in the East Coast 4WD Association, where he held the title of president in its earlier years. In addition to winning many races in East Coast 4WD Association, he won class 3 in the 1976 Memorial Day 100 at Lake Geneva, which, at the time, was one of the largest off-road races in the Midwest.

An avid golfer, Mr. Corwin began his passion for golf at Fort Cherry Golf Club, now known as Cherry Hills Country Club. He was also a longtime member of Williams Country Club in Weirton, W.Va., where he served on the board of directors.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Beth Mascaro Corwin, whom he married September 24, 1996; a son, Brian David Corwin of Bethany, W.Va.; a brother, James V. Corwin of Mercer; his mother-in-law, Fran Mascaro; sisters-in-law Michelle Mascaro and Darlene Corwin; nieces Gianna and Maresa Hrapchak and Connie Weaver; and nephews Luke Hrapchak, Brandon (Zarina) Corwin and Ronald and Donald Carter.

Mr. Corwin was a man who always gave more of himself than he ever had to and expected nothing in return. He truly was a gentleman and left his mark on all who knew him.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to noon, the time of a celebration of life, Monday, January 22, in Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Mr. Corwin’s close friends and family will preside at the service. Private interment will take place in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
