Evelyn M. Sacks, 100, of Fredericktown, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, in Washington Hospital.
She was born October 27, 1917, in New Geneva, a daughter of the late William and Mollie Heinbaugh Kisinger.
Mrs. Sacks was a graduate of Georges Township High School.
From 1950 to 1985, she and her late husband, Edwin H. Sacks, co-owned and operated Sacks Grocery, located in California and Fredericktown.
Mrs. Sacks was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Fredericktown.
She enjoyed flower gardening, along with her late husband.
Surviving are three children, Keith Sacks (Carolyn) of Cortland, Ohio, Molly Ann Sacks of Fredericktown and Jerry W. Sacks of Brownsville; five grandchildren, Sherry, Valerie, Mary Beth, Carrie and Amie; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Wade of Leona Valley, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, Edwin H. Sacks, who passed away August 17, 2001, are four sisters, Lorraine Mayer, Rosalie Blosser, Louise Kisinger and Ruby Dils, and a brother, William Kisinger Jr.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street, Fredericktown, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 22, with the Rev. Rick Bowser officiating. Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
