Shirley Jane McConnell Dally, 89, of Zephyrhills, Fla., died Thursday, January 18, 2018.

She was born July 25, 1928, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Stella and Clarence McConnell.

On October 9, 1950, she married the love of her life, Russell D. Dally. Their daughter, Victoria (Robert) Clarke, was born June 23, 1951.

Mrs. Dally attended high school in Peters Township and was a lifelong member of Center Presbyterian Church.

She started playing golf at age 35 and became a club champion at Lindenwood Golf Club. She also had four career holes-in-one.

Mrs. Dally and her husband moved to Zephyrhills in 1997. She enjoyed playing golf, gardening, bird-watching and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family with all of her heart.

Deceased are her beloved daughter, Vicki; her parents, Stella and Clarence McConnell; and her siblings, Lois Guthrie, Loren McConnell and Gerald Clair McConnell.

Surviving are her husband, Russell; three grandchildren, Amanda (Daniel) Greene, Jordan Clarke and Ashley Clarke; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Dexter Greene; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dally had a special relationship with her nephew, Bob (Jan) Guthrie.

Mrs. Dally also leaves behind her cat, Tom, whom she adored.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or an animal charity of the donor’s choice.
