William H. Tennant

William H. Tennant, 73, of Blacksville, W.Va., passed away peacefully Friday, January 19, 2018, with family by his side.

He was born December 26, 1944, in Miracle Run, W.Va., a son of the late Wilda H. Tennant and C. Pauline Kinty Tennant.

Mr. Tennant was a retired coal miner who worked at Eastern Associated Coal Co. Federal No. 2 mine on Miracle Run.

He loved to fish, hunt, work on his farm, golf and spend time on his side-by-side ATV, visiting friends and neighbors.

Mr. Tennant was Methodist.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Arietta Statler Tennant; two daughters and their spouses, Tammy and Vernon “Skeeter” Varner of Miracle Run and Tiffany and James Durst of Blacksville; two grandchildren, Ceaira Varner and fiancé Derrick Cole and Brody Dylan Varner; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Kim Sullivan, Beth Jones and Todd Foley.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Martha Jane Church.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 22, with Pastor Steve Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Core Cemetery, Bula, W.Va.
