Clara Marie Kucher, 95, of Burgettstown, died Friday, January 19, 2018.
She was born January 12, 1923, in Follansbee, W.Va., a daughter of the late Francesco and Rose DiBonaventura Fiazza.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Kucher was employed as a draftsman for RCA Corp. in Washington.
She was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran during World War II, where she built planes.
Mrs. Kucher was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown and Burgettstown Senior Citizen Center.
In earlier times, she was a Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed reading and crafting.
On April 1, 1947, she married Paul Kucher, who died March 4, 2016.
Surviving are children Marilyn McCourt of Coconut Grove, Fla., Paul (Susan) Kucher of Burgettstown, Dr. Michael (Dr. Laurie) Kucher of Clinton and Michele (Craig) Kurtz of Fayetteville, N.C.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are brothers Andrew, James, Domenic and Samuel Fiazza, and a sister who died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, with the Rev. Bob Staszewski officiating. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Follansbee, W.Va. Full military honors will be accorded by Slovan-Burgettstown Veterans of Foreign Wars.
