Audrey Wolfe Taylor, 90, of Wellsburg, W.Va., passed away at 8:18 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, in Valley Haven Geriatric Center, Wellsburg.
She was born January 14, 1928, in Glendale, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lawrence P. and Loretta Boring Wolfe.
Mrs. Taylor was a devoted member of Wellsburg Christian Church, where she served with Loyal Daughters, Christian Women’s Fellowship, and as a Sunday school teacher. Many will remember her for her love of Christ, sewing, crocheting, and baby-sitting, but most of all, the true love of family.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, William M. Taylor; and a brother, William Wolfe.
Surviving are five children, Esther Taylor, Larry (Toni) Taylor and Lou Ann (Jim) Dawson, all of Wellsburg, Clara (Ted) Zatta of Avella and Bertha Guio of Alpharetta, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, Jeff (Tasha), Dean and Jim (Heather) Taylor, Laura (Bill) Matteson, Audra (Leo) Hansen, Marie (Ed) Kosut, Matthew (Ellen) Taylor, Shannon (Mark) Box, C.J. (Shawn) Gottardi and Adam and Gabriel Guio; 13 great-grandchildren, Kevin, Kenny, Marshall, Anthony, Emily, Carson, Zachary, Nathan, Alex, Paige, Kennedy, Sidney and Charlotte; two sisters, Esther L. Wolfe and Ruth A. Rossi of Warwood, W.Va.; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services, Thursday, January 25, in Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, 304-737-3551, with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Short Creek Cemetery, Wheeling, W.Va., next to her husband, William.
