Betty Jane Benedict, 94, of Washington, formerly of Waynesburg, died Saturday, January 20, 2018, in Washington.
She was born December 15, 1923, in Carmichaels, a daughter of the late Furman and Lucy Taylor Howard.
She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Waynesburg.
On September 12, 1947, she married Ernest Benedict, who died March 30, 2000.
Left to cherish her memory are niece Teresa Teagarden Emry of Washington; great-nephew Zacari Teagarden of Washington; her caregiver, Mary Kirkland; and her canine companion, Sophie.
Deceased are an infant daughter, Barbara Ann; two sisters, Alice Teagarden and Marie Fox; five brothers, Charles, Harold, David, Clarence and Allen Howard.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m., the hour of services, Wednesday, January 24, in Behm Funeral Home, 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with the Rev. David Deagle officiating. Condolences may be expressed at www.behmfh.com.
