Dorothy Janovich Sibert, 81, of West Alexander, passed away quietly in Donnell House, Washington, surrounded by loved ones after losing a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born February 14, 1936, in Washington, a daughter of the late Peter and Hilda Janovich. On June 6, 1953, she married Irvin Sibert, who passed away January 16, 2002.
Surviving are three daughters, Beth Martin of West Finley, Kathy Lebon of Warren and Susan Hunter of West Alexander; two sons, Mark Sibert of West Finley and Chris Sibert of Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren, Ian and Jared Martin of West Finley, Dylan Lebon of Warren, Jeremy Catlett of Claysville, Michelle Marcase of West Alexander, Matt Catlett of Wheeling, Nathan Sibert of Washington, Adam Sibert of Claysville, Chris Sibert of West Finley, Anna Sibert of West Finley and Ethan Sibert of Las Vegas; and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Dr. Richard Janovich of Memphis, Tenn., Joanne Croft of Wheeling, W.Va., Mary Capkovitz of Wellsboro, W.Va., and Robert Janovich of Claysville. Deceased are a son, Pete Sibert, and a brother, Alvin Janovich.
Family only will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday. Friends and family received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323, 724-663-7373, www.youngfhinc.com. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 26, in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in her name to Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
