Catherine N. Patterson, 71, of Amity, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018, in her home, surrounded by family.

She was born January 6, 1947, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Chester and Johnetta Antill Shriver.

At one time, Mrs. Patterson worked at Faith Christian School in Washington and at Open Door Christian Academy in Lippincott. She also volunteered at the Christian Outreach center in Marianna.

Mrs. Patterson enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband of more than 52 years, Victor D. Patterson of Amity; a daughter, Cathy (Randy) Thornhill of Elkins, W.Va.; two sons, Dale (Jackie) Patterson of Mt. Morris and Donald (Crystal) Patterson of Amity; a brother, Robert Shriver of Texas; two sisters, Donna Shriver Zook of West Virginia and Betty (Everett) Sine of West Virginia; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two brothers, William Shriver and Chester Shriver Jr.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., corner of Wilson and East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 27. Burial will be private.
