Daniel L. O’Neill, 71, of Venetia, died Thursday, January 25, 2018, in his home.
He was born April 16, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Lloyd and Elizabeth Craig O’Neill.
Mr. O’Neill was a 1964 graduate of Peters Township High School. He was retired as a self-employed contractor.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received the Distinguished Service Cross.
Mr. O’Neill was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 764, McMurray, where he served as steward for 20 years, and American Legion Post 613, Finleyville.
Surviving are his wife, Vicki Bishop O’Neill; a sister, Karen Bertges (Bill) of Baton Rouge, La.; a sister-in-law, Karen Fincham of Finleyville; and several nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind his canine friends, Minnie and JR.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 29. Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery with full military honors. VFW and American Legion services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
